Kentucky Agreement as to Compensation and Order Approving Settlement-Occupational Disease-Hearing Loss is a form used in the state of Kentucky for workers' compensation claims related to hearing loss due to occupational disease. It is a legal agreement between an injured worker and their employer in which the employer agrees to pay a specified amount of compensation to the worker in exchange for the worker's release of all future claims against the employer. There are two main types of Kentucky Agreement as to Compensation and Order Approving Settlement-Occupational Disease-Hearing Loss: Lump Sum Agreements and Structured Settlements. Lump Sum Agreements provide the injured worker with a one-time, fixed payment that covers both their medical expenses and lost wages. Structured Settlements provide the worker with periodic payments, usually over a period of several years, which may include additional benefits such as health insurance or disability payments. The Kentucky Agreement as to Compensation and Order Approving Settlement-Occupational Disease-Hearing Loss must be approved by the Kentucky Workers' Compensation Board before it is valid.
