Louisiana RICO Standing Order is a civil court rule in the state of Louisiana that requires the filing of a special pleading to initiate a civil action based on the Louisiana Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. The Standing Order allows a plaintiff to prove that the defendant has engaged in a pattern of racketeering activity and is therefore liable for damages. The Louisiana RICO Standing Order sets out the requirements for such pleadings, including the necessary elements, the burden of proof and the remedies that may be sought. There are two types of Louisiana RICO Standing Orders: one that applies to civil actions brought by private plaintiffs, and another that applies to civil actions brought by the state. The Standing Order also requires the filing of a motion to dismiss any action that does not meet the requirements of the Order.
