Louisiana EEOC Complaint & Appointment of Counsel is the process of filing a discrimination complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and requesting the appointment of an attorney to represent you in your case. When filing a complaint with the EEOC, the complainant must provide information regarding the alleged discrimination that took place, including the date the discrimination occurred, the type of discrimination, and the name of the employer or person responsible. After the EEOC receives the complaint, it will then contact the complainant to schedule a mediation session. If mediation is unsuccessful or the complainant does not want to pursue mediation, the EEOC may appoint counsel to represent the complainant in a court case. There are two types of Louisiana EEOC Complaint & Appointment of Counsel: Administrative Complaints and Judicial Complaints. Administrative Complaints are filed directly with the EEOC and are generally handled by the agency. Judicial Complaints are initiated through the filing of a lawsuit and are handled by the court.
