Louisiana Order of Mediation — Visitation or Custody is a court-ordered mediation process through which parents can resolve issues related to visitation or custody arrangements in a safe, neutral environment. This process enables parents to work together to create a parenting plan that works for everyone involved. The Louisiana Order of Mediation — Visitation or Custody process is available for parents who are involved in a dispute regarding visitation or custody of children. The process is designed to help parents reach an agreement that is in the best interest of the children involved, while avoiding costly and time-consuming litigation. There are two types of Louisiana Order of Mediation — Visitation or Custody: (1) Mediation for Parents and (2) Mediation for Children. In Mediation for Parents, two or more parents can meet with a mediator to discuss and negotiate a visitation or custody plan. In Mediation for Children, a mediator can meet with the children and their parents to discuss and negotiate a visitation or custody plan. In both cases, the mediator will work to ensure that the parents and children reach an agreement that is in the best interest of the children.
