The Louisiana Order Appointing Mental Health Professional is a court order issued by the court to appoint a mental health professional to assess or treat a person who has been declared mentally ill, or who is a minor and in need of mental health services. This order is issued in accordance with Louisiana Mental Health Law. There are three types of Louisiana Order Appointing Mental Health Professional available: 1. Louisiana Order Appointing Mental Health Professional to Examine: This order is issued when a court believes that a person is in need of an assessment or diagnosis from a mental health professional. 2. Louisiana Order Appointing Mental Health Professional to Treat: This order is issued when a court believes that a person is in need of treatment from a mental health professional. 3. Louisiana Order Appointing Mental Health Professional to Serve as Guardian or Conservator: This order is issued when a court believes that a person is in need of a guardian or conservator to oversee their mental health care. These orders are used to ensure that the person being evaluated or treated is receiving the highest quality of care. The mental health professional appointed by the court is responsible for providing an assessment, diagnosis, and/or treatment plan for the person in need.
