The Louisiana Act To Immobilize A Manufactured Home is a state law that allows homeowners to immobilize their manufactured home and move it to a different location. This law is designed to help protect the safety and security of manufactured homes, while still allowing them to be moved when necessary. The Act requires that all manufactured homes in Louisiana be registered with the Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles and have a certificate of immobilization. This certificate must be presented to the local police department when the home is moved. There are two different types of Louisiana Act To Immobilize A Manufactured Home: the Mobile Home Demobilization Act and the Manufactured Home Demobilization Act. The Mobile Home Demobilization Act applies to all mobile homes that were manufactured prior to January 1, 2003. The Manufactured Home Demobilization Act applies to all manufactured homes that were manufactured on or after January 1, 2003. Both Acts require that the homeowner submit a completed application, including a fee, to the state for approval. Once approved, the homeowner will receive a certificate of demobilization, which must be presented to the local police department when the home is moved.
