The Maryland Petition for Expungement of Records — Guilty Disposition is a legal document that a person can use to request that a criminal record stemming from a guilty disposition be expunged. This type of expungement is available for individuals who have successfully completed their sentence, including any probation, parole, or suspended sentences. The petition must be filed with the court where the conviction occurred, and must include a number of documents and information, such as the reason for the expungement request, the petitioner's full name and date of birth, the petitioner's criminal record, the name and address of the petitioner's attorney (if applicable), the name of the arresting agency, and the date of the arrest. There are two types of Maryland Petition for Expungement of Records — Guilty Disposition: Misdemeanor and Felony. The Misdemeanor Petition is used for convictions that resulted in a sentence of up to 1 year in prison, while the Felony Petition is used for convictions that resulted in a sentence of more than 1 year in prison.
