The Maryland Protective Order Addendum (Bilingual — Spanish Format) is a document that is used in the state of Maryland to supplement a protective order between two parties. This document is available in both English and Spanish and is intended to provide additional protection to individuals who have been the victims of domestic violence. The Maryland Protective Order Addendum includes provisions for such things as: prohibiting contact, preventing the accused from entering the victim's residence, setting boundaries for contact with children, and providing transportation assistance. There are two types of Maryland Protective Order Addendum (Bilingual — Spanish Format): the Emergency Protective Order and the Final Protective Order. The Emergency Protective Order is issued when an immediate threat of harm is present, while the Final Protective Order is issued after a hearing and is in effect for up to six months.
