The Maryland SCOR — Introduction/Requirements/Instruments is a set of tools and procedures used to assess the quality and performance of health care organizations in the state of Maryland. It is developed and implemented by the Maryland Health Care Commission (MHC) and is based on national standards of excellence in health care delivery. The Maryland SCOR framework consists of three components: Introduction/Requirements, Instruments, and Results. The Introduction/Requirements component includes the vision and guiding principles of the Maryland SCOR program, as well as the requirements for participation in the program. In order to participate, a health care organization must have an MHCC-approved quality improvement plan and must demonstrate a commitment to the principles of quality improvement. The Instruments component includes a set of tools and processes used to evaluate the performance of a health care organization. These tools include a Quality Improvement Plan (HIP), a Quality Improvement Report (AIR), a Quality Improvement Scorecard (IS), and a Quality Improvement Dashboard (DID). The Results component includes a set of performance measures used to evaluate the performance of a health care organization, including the Quality Improvement Scorecard, Quality Improvement Report, and Quality Improvement Dashboard. The results of these measures are used to assess the performance of the health care organization and to identify areas for improvement. The Maryland SCOR program is designed to ensure the quality and safety of care provided by health care organizations in the state of Maryland. It is a comprehensive system for assessing and improving the performance of health care organizations and helps to ensure that Marylander's receive the highest quality of care.
