Maine Class Numbers for Marks are a system used by the Maine Secretary of State for filing and registering trademarks and service marks. This system is used to ensure that any mark registered with the state is unique and that no two marks are the same. There are three different types of Maine Class Numbers for Marks, which are: Standard Character Mark, Stylized/Design Mark, and Sound Mark. A Standard Character Mark is a mark that consists of words, letters, numbers, and/or other symbols without any special font, style, design or color. A Stylized/Design Mark is a mark that consists of a design, logo, or a combination of both. A Sound Mark is a mark that consists of a recognizable sound or sequence of sounds.
