Maine Articles of Domestication and Conversion are documents which are filed with the Maine Secretary of State in order to convert a foreign business entity into a Maine business entity. The types of Maine Article of Domestication and Conversion include Foreign Profit Corporation to Domestic Profit Corporation, Foreign Non-Profit Corporation to Domestic Non-Profit Corporation, Limited Liability Company to Domestic Limited Liability Company, and Limited Partnership to Domestic Limited Partnership. The documents must include the name of the foreign business entity, the jurisdiction in which it was formed, the name of the proposed Maine business entity, the purpose of the entity, the address of the principal office of the entity, and the names and addresses of the persons who will be managing the entity. The documents must also be signed by an authorized representative of the foreign business entity. After filing the documents with the Maine Secretary of State, the foreign business entity is officially converted into a Maine business entity.
