The Michigan Certificate Regarding Domestic Support Obligations (CR DSO) is a document issued by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MD HHS) to provide evidence that an individual or entity is legally obligated to pay support such as alimony and/or child support. It is commonly used in court proceedings or other legal proceedings when support payments are being enforced or modified. There are two different types of CR DSO’s: the Certificate for Current Support Obligations and the Certificate for Arbitrage Support Obligations. The Certificate for Current Support Obligations is used to verify an individual’s current support obligations. This certificate includes the amount of support owed, the date the obligation began, the date the obligation ends, and the address and phone number of the MD HHS office responsible for enforcing the obligation. The Certificate for Arbitrage Support Obligations is used to verify an individualarbitragege, or past due, support obligations. This certificate includes the amount of arbitrage owed, the date the arbitrage began, and the address and phone number of the MD HHS office responsible for enforcing the obligation. Both certificates must be signed by an MD HHS official to be valid.
