Michigan Debtors Certification Regarding Domestic Support Obligations is a document that is used by the State of Michigan in order to verify that a debtor is in compliance with a domestic support obligation. This document must be completed and filed with the court in order for the debtor to legally discharge any domestic support debts. There are two types of Michigan Debtors Certification Regarding Domestic Support Obligations: Type A and Type B. Type A is used when the debtor is the party responsible for paying the domestic support debt. This type of certification requires the debtor to provide a statement of their financial assets, liabilities, income, and expenses. The debtor must also list any current or past due support obligations. Type B is used when the debtor is the party receiving the domestic support debt. This type of certification requires the debtor to provide a statement of the amount owed, the period of time over which the debt has been unpaid, and the status of the debtor's efforts to collect the debt.
