A Michigan Co-Partnership Registration Certificate is a document that is required for a partnership to legally conduct business in the state of Michigan. It is issued by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) and is commonly referred to as a partnership certificate. There are two types of Michigan Co-Partnership Registration Certificates: a General Co-Partnership Registration Certificate and a Limited Liability Co-Partnership Registration Certificate. The General Co-Partnership Registration Certificate is required for partnerships that are not limited liability partnerships. The Limited Liability Co-Partnership Registration Certificate is required for partnerships that are limited liability partnerships. Both certificates must be completed and signed by all partners in order to be valid. The certificates must be accompanied by the filing fee and must be filed with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Once the certificates are filed, the partnership is officially registered with the state of Michigan and is able to conduct business in the state.
