Michigan ADA Request for Accommodations is a formal request for reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This request is used to ensure that people with disabilities have access to the same rights and opportunities as those without disabilities. The accommodation request must include the specific accommodation needed, the disability that requires the accommodation, and how the accommodation will help the individual in their work. There are three types of Michigan ADA Request for Accommodations: Employment, Public Entities, and Public Accommodations. For Employment accommodations, employers must provide reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities that will enable them to perform the essential functions of their job. For Public Entities, the request must be made to a local government, public institution, or other public entity. Finally, for Public Accommodations, the request must be made to access services, programs, or activities that are provided by a private business or individual.
