A Michigan Consent Custody Order is a court order issued by the Michigan Family Court when parents are unable to agree on the custody arrangements for their child. This order defines the legal rights and responsibilities of each parent in regard to the child’s care. There are three main types of Michigan Consent Custody Order: joint custody, sole custody, and split custody. Joint custody is when both parents share legal and physical custody of the child, while sole custody is when one parent has full custody of the child. Split custody is when the child is split between two households, with one parent having custody of some children and the other parent having custody of the remaining children. In all types of Michigan Consent Custody Order, the parents are required to share decision-making for the child, and must agree on parenting plans, child support, and visitation rights. In addition, the order will also specify which parent will have primary residence of the child.
