Michigan Child Care Verification is a system that helps parents and guardians locate and verify licensed child care providers in the state of Michigan. The system allows parents and guardians to search for and locate regulated child care providers in their area, and to ensure that the providers are licensed and in good standing with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). The system also helps parents and guardians learn about the types of services offered by the child care providers, and to compare different child care providers based on their ratings and reviews. There are two types of Michigan Child Care Verification: 1) the verification process for regulated child care providers, and 2) the verification process for license-exempt child care providers. For regulated child care providers, the verification process includes an online application, a criminal background check, and an inspection of the facility. For license-exempt providers, the verification process only includes an online application. Both types of verification are necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of the children in the care of the child care provider.
