The Michigan Strategic Plan is a comprehensive plan that provides direction for the State of Michigan in order to promote sustainable economic growth, improve quality of life for residents, and ensure Michigan remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family. The plan focuses on four primary goals: promoting economic growth, strengthening Michigan's workforce, improving educational opportunities, and protecting Michigan’s natural resources. The Michigan Strategic Plan comprises several types of plans: the Long-Range Plan, Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CDs), Statewide Transportation Plan, and State Emergency Management Plan. The Long-Range Plan is a long-term vision for Michigan’s economic future, including goals and strategies for achieving them. The CDs are a coordinated strategy for regional economic development, focusing on local economic needs. The Statewide Transportation Plan outlines Michigan’s transportation infrastructure needs, while the State Emergency Management Plan outlines the state’s preparedness and response plans for natural disasters and other emergencies.
