Minnesota (AO 239) Application to Proceed in District Court Without Prepaying Fees or Costs is a legal document used by low-income individuals to seek permission from a court to proceed with a case without having to pay court fees or costs. This document is sometimes referred to as an formma pauperis” (IFP) application. The applicant must provide the court with information about their current financial situation and provide proof of their income. Once the application is approved, the applicant can bring their case to court without having to pay filing fees. There are two types of Minnesota (AO 239) Application to Proceed in District Court Without Prepaying Fees or Costs: (1) General IFP Application and (2) IFP Application for Juveniles. The General IFP Application is used by adults to apply to proceed in district court without prepaying fees or costs.
