The Minnesota Application for Informal Appointment of Personal Representative (No Will) is an official court document that is used to appoint a personal representative (also known as an executor or executrix) to an estate in which there is no will. This document must be completed and filed in the court that has jurisdiction over the deceased's estate. It includes information such as the decedent's name, date of death, and any assets that may need to be administered. The application must also include the name and address of the petitioner (the person filing the application) as well as the name and address of the proposed representative. There are two types of Minnesota Application for Informal Appointment of Personal Representative (No Will): the Regular Form and the Simplified Form. The Regular Form is used for estates with assets that are greater than $75,000 in value, and requires additional information and attachments. The Simplified Form is used for estates with assets that are less than $75,000 in value, and is a more streamlined version of the application.
