Minnesota Consent of Parent to Adoption and Waiver of Notice of Adoption Hearing is a legal document that is signed by a biological parent of a minor child in Minnesota. This document is signed in the presence of a notary public and is required in order for an adoption to be finalized. It gives the adopting parents legal rights to the child and allows them to assume all parental responsibilities. The Minnesota Consent of Parent to Adoption and Waiver of Notice of Adoption Hearing has two different forms: the Consent of Parent to Adoption of a Minor and the Waiver of Notice of Adoption Hearing. The Consent of Parent to Adoption of a Minor form is signed by the birth parent or guardian of the minor child and waives their right to object to the adoption. The Waiver of Notice of Adoption Hearing form is signed by the birth parent or guardian of the minor child and waives their right to be notified of the adoption hearing. Both forms must be signed in the presence of a notary public in order for the adoption to be finalized.
