Minnesota Instructions — Fee Waiver / IFP is a program offered by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) that allows individuals and families to apply for a waiver of fees for certain county services and programs. The program is designed to help individuals and families who may not have the financial resources to pay for such services and programs. There are two types of Minnesota Instructions — Fee Waiver / IFP: the County Fee Waiver and the Independent Fee Waiver. The County Fee Waiver allows applicants to receive assistance in paying for county-funded human services programs, including Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANK), Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), and other programs. The Independent Fee Waiver allows applicants to receive assistance in paying for services provided by private providers, such as health care, mental health services, and other services. Both types of waivers require applicants to meet certain income and asset requirements.
