Missouri Small Claims Satisfaction of Judgment is the process of collecting a monetary debt from a debtor in the state of Missouri. The judgment creditor (the party who won the small claims court case) has the right to collect the debt, and the judgment debtor (the party who lost the case) is obligated to pay the debt. The judgment creditor must file a Satisfaction of Judgment with the court after the debt is paid in order to show that the debt has been paid in full. There are two types of Missouri Small Claims Satisfaction of Judgment: voluntary and involuntary. Voluntary Satisfaction of Judgment occurs when the judgment debtor voluntarily pays the debt, either by sending a check or money order to the judgment creditor or by making a payment plan with the judgment creditor. Involuntary Satisfaction of Judgment occurs when the judgment creditor is awarded a Writ of Execution from the court which allows them to seize the judgment debtor’s assets to satisfy the debt.
