The Missouri Certificate of Change of Owners Name is a document issued by the Missouri Secretary of State that allows an owner to change the name on a business entity's ownership documents. The certificate must be filed with the Secretary of State's office in order for the name change to be official and valid. There are two types of Missouri Certificate of Change of Owners Name: (1) the Certificate of Change of Owners Name for a Domestic Corporation and (2) the Certificate of Change of Owners Name for a Foreign Corporation. The Certificate of Change of Owners Name for a Domestic Corporation must include the name of the organization, address, type of entity, and the name and address of the registered agent. The Certificate of Change of Owners Name for a Foreign Corporation must include the name of the organization, address, type of entity, and the name and address of the registered agent, as well as the name and address of the foreign corporation's organizer.
