Missouri Eligibility Guidelines For Second Injury Rehab Benefits are a set of guidelines that individuals must meet in order to receive assistance for medical and/or vocational rehabilitation services, such as job training. To be eligible for these benefits, an individual must have sustained a permanent disability, have a prior disability, and be able to demonstrate that the combined effects of the two disabilities are greater than the sum of the effects of the individual disabilities. There are three types of Missouri Eligibility Guidelines For Second Injury Rehab Benefits: * Disabilities due to a new injury: To qualify for benefits, an individual must have suffered a permanent, disabling injury as a result of an accident or illness that occurred after the date of the original disability. * Disabilities due to a pre-existing injury: To qualify for benefits, an individual must have suffered a permanent, disabling injury as a result of an accident or illness that occurred prior to the date of the original disability. * Combined disabilities: To qualify for benefits, an individual must have suffered a permanent, disabling injury as a result of an accident or illness that combined the effects of two disabilities, one of which was sustained prior to the date of the original disability.
