The Missouri Unemployment Compensation Notice of Appeal is a document used when an individual wishes to appeal a decision made by the Missouri Division of Employment Security (DES). This document is used when an individual has been denied unemployment benefits, or the amount of benefits for which they were approved is too low. There are three types of Missouri Unemployment Compensation Notice of Appeal: Appeal for Reversal of Denial of Benefits, Appeal for Increase in Benefit Rate, and Appeal for Reversal of Overpayment of Benefits. All three types of Missouri Unemployment Compensation Notice of Appeal require the individual to provide evidence to support their claim and must be submitted within 15 days of the date of the decision. The Notice of Appeal must include information such as the individual's name, address, Social Security number, employer's name and address, date of the decision, and a description of the decision being appealed. The individual must also provide a written explanation of why the decision should be reversed or modified. After filing the Notice of Appeal, the individual will receive a hearing date and time at which the DES will hear their case.
