Missouri Affidavit Compliance with the Prevailing Wage Law is a legal requirement for contractors and subcontractors working on public works projects in the state of Missouri. The law requires contractors and subcontractors to pay their employees a wage rate that is no less than the prevailing rate of pay for similar work in the locality where the work is being performed. In addition to the prevailing wage rate, employers must also pay benefits such as health insurance and vacation time. There are two types of Missouri Affidavit Compliance with the Prevailing Wage Law: the Standard Affidavit and the Merit System Affidavit. The Standard Affidavit requires employers to submit an affidavit to the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DOLOR) affirming that they have complied with all applicable state wage and hour laws, and that all employees are being paid the prevailing wage rate. The Merit System Affidavit requires employers to submit a more detailed affidavit to the DOLOR, including information such as the number of hours worked, the wage rate, and the benefits provided. Both types of Missouri Affidavit Compliance require employers to provide proof of payment to the DOLOR. This includes payroll records, wage statements, and other documents to demonstrate compliance with the Prevailing Wage Law. Failure to comply with the law can result in penalties, including the loss of state contracts and other sanctions.
