The Missouri Public Work Check-Off List is a set of requirements that must be met before a public works project can move ahead in the state of Missouri. It consists of three distinct areas: general requirements, health and safety requirements, and environmental requirements. General requirements include items such as obtaining a building permit, submitting an environmental assessment, ensuring proper insurance coverage, and obtaining all necessary licenses. Health and safety requirements include items such as providing a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring that all safety standards are met, and providing all necessary safety gear and equipment. Environmental requirements include items such as researching and understanding the environmental impact of the project, abiding by local and state environmental regulations, and properly disposing of hazardous materials. There are two types of Missouri Public Work Check-Off Lists: a standard list and an expanded list. The standard list covers the general, health and safety, and environmental requirements, while the expanded list includes additional requirements such as cultural and historical requirements, labor standards, and sustainability requirements.
