Missouri Trade Adjustment Assistance for Workers (TAA) is a program designed to provide temporary financial assistance to workers who have been adversely affected by foreign trade. This program helps workers who have lost their jobs or had their hours or wages reduced due to foreign trade compete in the global economy. Eligible workers can receive a variety of benefits, including job search/retraining assistance, relocation expenses, income support, and health care coverage. There are two types of Missouri Trade Adjustment Assistance for Workers: (1) Trade Readjustment Allowances (ERA) and (2) Alternative Trade Adjustment Assistance (AAA). ERA provides income support to workers who are enrolled in approved training programs, who are actively seeking work, or who are unable to work due to a disability related to their job loss. AAA, on the other hand, is available to workers who are unable to participate in approved training and who are not eligible for ERA. Under AAA, workers may receive a wage subsidy, job search and relocation expenses, and other benefits.
