The Mississippi Notice of Objection to Claim (effective 12/1/2017) is a legal document used by creditors to challenge the validity of a debt owed by a debtor. It is typically used when a debtor is attempting to discharge the debt in bankruptcy. This document is also sometimes referred to as a "Proof of Claim Objection" or a "Claim Objection". The Notice of Objection must be filed within sixty (60) days of the date the creditor receives the Debtor's Bankruptcy Petition. The Objection to Claim for Liquidated Debt is used for debts that are known, certain, and can be calculated. The Objection to Claim for Unliquidated Debt is used for debts that are uncertain or where the amount in dispute is not known.
