North Carolina Debtors Electronic Noticing Request is a service provided by the North Carolina Department of Justice to individuals who have a debt collection case pending in North Carolina. It is an electronic notification system that notifies debtors when an action has been taken in their case, such as a hearing, trial, or judgment. The service is free and can be completed online or by mail. There are three types of North Carolina Debtors Electronic Noticing Request: 1) Notification of Court Events, 2) Receipt of Notice of Default, and 3) Notification of Bankruptcy Filing. The Notification of Court Events provides debtors with updates on their case, such as when and where a hearing or trial is scheduled. Receipt of Notice of Default is sent when the creditor has taken legal action to collect the debt, such as filing a lien or garnishing wages. Notification of Bankruptcy Filing lets debtors know when their creditors have filed for bankruptcy.
