North Carolina Certification as Supervising Attorney is a certification program administered by the North Carolina State Bar in order to ensure that attorneys have the necessary knowledge and experience to practice law and provide legal services to the public. The program provides certification to attorneys who have met certain requirements and passed a comprehensive exam. There are three types of North Carolina Certification as Supervising Attorney: 1. Certified Supervising Attorney: This certification is awarded to attorneys who have five years of legal experience and have passed the North Carolina Supervising Attorney Exam. 2. Certified Senior Supervising Attorney: This certification is awarded to attorneys who have 10 years of legal experience, have passed the North Carolina Supervising Attorney Exam, and have completed a minimum of 20 hours of continuing legal education (CLE) credits. 3. Certified Master Supervising Attorney: This certification is awarded to attorneys who have 15 years of legal experience, have passed the North Carolina Supervising Attorney Exam, and have completed a minimum of 40 hours of CLE credits.
