North Carolina National Creditor Registration Service — Registration is a service provided by the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State to register creditors who are engaged in the collection and/or purchase of delinquent debt in North Carolina. Creditors must register before engaging in any debt collection activity. There are two types of North Carolina National Creditor Registration Service — Registration: Domestic Registration and Foreign Registration. Domestic Registration is for creditors who are based in North Carolina, while Foreign Registration is for creditors who are based outside of North Carolina. The registration process includes submitting an application form, paying a filing fee, and providing a valid North Carolina address for service of process. Upon successful registration, creditors will be issued a registration certificate which must be renewed annually.
