North Dakota CERT of WRITE-IN CANDIDACY/STATEWIDE, JUDICIAL & LEWIS OFFICE is a certification program that allows individuals to be eligible to file as a write-in candidate for a statewide office in the state of North Dakota. This program is open to candidates for state-wide, judicial or legislative offices, including Governor, Supreme Court Justice, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State Treasurer, State Auditor, Commissioner of Agriculture, Commissioner of Insurance, Commissioner of Public Instruction, Commissioner of Labor and Commissioner of Taxation. This program is administered by the North Dakota Secretary of State’s Office and requires the filing of a proper Declaration of Candidacy and Statement of Write-In Candidacy. The Declaration of Candidacy must be accompanied by a petition signed by at least 500 eligible electors and must include the candidate’s name, address, office sought and political party affiliation (if applicable). The Statement of Write-In Candidacy must include the candidate’s name, address, office sought, political party affiliation (if applicable), and a statement of the candidate’s qualifications. This program also requires the filing of a Statement of Financial Interests and a Campaign Finance Disclosure Report.
