The North Dakota Real Estate Commission administers the registration program. All home inspectors must be registered with the Commission in order to perform home inspections in the state of North Dakota. There are two types of North Dakota Home Inspector Registration: 1. Licensed Home Inspector: Individuals must meet certain qualifications such as passing an exam, completing a background check, and completing at least 40 hours of inspection-related education in order to be licensed as a home inspector in North Dakota. 2. Certified Home Inspector: Individuals must meet the same qualifications as a licensed home inspector, but must also complete an additional 40 hours of inspection-related education. Both types of North Dakota Home Inspector Registration require a completed application, registration fee, and proof of liability insurance. Certified inspectors are also required to submit proof of their additional 40 hours of inspection-related education.
