A Nebraska Order of Dismissal (NOD) is a legal document issued by a court in the state of Nebraska that terminates a lawsuit or other legal proceeding. Nods are typically issued when a plaintiff decides to voluntarily end a lawsuit or when the parties to a dispute have reached a settlement. A Nebraska Order of Dismissal can be issued in two forms: with prejudice or without prejudice. A dismissal with prejudice means the plaintiff is barred from bringing the same claim in the future, while a dismissal without prejudice allows the plaintiff to refile the case in the future. Nods are usually issued by the court after a motion to dismiss is filed by either the plaintiff or defendant.
