The Nebraska Notice of Filing Foreign Judgment (updated January 2016) is a legal document used to register a foreign judgment in the state of Nebraska. This document is used to notify the debtor that the judgment creditor has filed a foreign judgment in the state court. The Notice of Filing Foreign Judgment is typically filed by the judgment creditor and must be filed in the county where the debtor resides or where the debtor has property. The Notice of Filing Foreign Judgment is a type of lien that is registered with the county. This lien gives the judgment creditor the right to collect on the debt from the debtor’s property. Once the Notice of Filing Foreign Judgment is filed, it is effective for 10 years, or for the duration of the foreign judgment. There are two types of Nebraska Notice of Filing Foreign Judgment (updated January 2016): the Notice of Filing Foreign Judgment of Record and the Notice of Filing Foreign Judgment of Execution. The Notice of Filing Foreign Judgment of Record is used to register the foreign judgment in the county court. The Notice of Filing Foreign Judgment of Execution is used to enforce the foreign judgment against the debtor’s assets.
