Nebraska Precise for Subpoena (updated October 2016) is a legal document used to issue a subpoena to a witness in a civil or criminal case. It requests the court to direct a sheriff or other law enforcement officer to serve the subpoena on the designated witness. The subpoena requires the witness to appear in court to testify or to produce documents or other evidence. There are two types of Nebraska Precise for Subpoena (updated October 2016): a subpoena duces tecum, which requires a witness to bring specified documents or objects to court; and a subpoena ad testificandum, which requires a witness to appear and testify. The Precise must be completed and filed with the court, along with a copy of the subpoena. It must include the name of the court, the case number, the name and address of the witness, the date and time of the hearing, and any other relevant information.
