Nebraska Designation of Investment Adviser Representatives is a state-level regulatory program that requires individuals who provide investment advice on behalf of an investment adviser to register and become designated as an Investment Adviser Representative in the state of Nebraska. This registration ensures that investment advisers meet certain qualifications and standards of practice, as well as adhere to all applicable state and federal regulations in order to provide investment advice. There are two types of Nebraska Designation of Investment Adviser Representatives: (1) Investment Adviser Representatives, who are individuals who solicit, negotiate, or provide investment advice on behalf of an investment adviser; and (2) Investment Adviser Representatives of Supervision, who are individuals who supervise Investment Adviser Representatives. Investment Adviser Representatives must obtain a license from the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance and must be registered with the state’s securities regulator before they can provide investment advice. The Investment Adviser Representative must also pass the Investment Adviser Representative Examination administered by FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority).
