The Nebraska Agreement for Selection of Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor is an agreement between the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) and a provider organization that covers the selection and placement of VR counselors in Nebraska. The agreement provides a fair, equitable, and efficient process for selecting and placing qualified counselors who are capable of providing quality services to individuals with disabilities. The agreement includes provisions for the selection and placement of VR counselors, the qualifications of counselors, the duties and responsibilities of counselors, the monitoring of counselors’ performance, and the rights of individuals with disabilities receiving services from counselors. It also includes rules and regulations that must be followed when selecting and placing counselors. There are two types of Nebraska Agreement for Selection of Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors: the Standard Agreement and the Enhanced Agreement. The Standard Agreement is the default agreement and applies to all organizations that use the services of VR counselors. The Enhanced Agreement applies to organizations that are designated as Enhanced Providers, such as those providing services to individuals with significant disabilities.
