New Hampshire Authorization for Compensation for Death is a state-administered program that provides monetary assistance to families who have experienced the death of a loved one due to a compensation injury. This program is designed to provide a financial cushion for families who have had to endure the loss of a loved one due to an injury sustained while on the job or in public service. Two types of New Hampshire Authorization for Compensation for Death include (1) death benefits for a surviving spouse, dependents, or legal representative, and (2) burial expenses for an eligible decedent. Eligible survivors are entitled to receive a one-time lump sum payment to help cover funeral and burial expenses. The amount of money awarded is determined by the severity of the decedent’s injury and the number of survivors identified in the application. The program also offers counseling services and other assistance to help to survive family members cope with their loss.
