Description

A stated supply is a minister appointed by the presbytery, after consultation with the session, to perform the functions of a pastor in a church which is not seeking an installed pastor. The relation shall be established only by the presbytery and shall extend for a period not to exceed twelve months at a time. A stated supply shall not be reappointed until the presbytery, through its committee on ministry, has reviewed her or his effectiveness. A stated supply may, with presbytery’s approval, serve as moderator of the session. A temporary supply is a minister secured by the session to conduct services when there is no pastor or the pastor is unable to perform pastoral duties. The session shall seek the counsel of presbytery through its committee on ministry before securing a temporary supply.

A New Hampshire Temporary Pastoral Supply Agreement refers to a contractual agreement between a church or religious institution and an ordained pastor or religious leader for the provision of temporary pastoral services. This agreement is designed to outline the terms and conditions under which the pastor will work on a temporary basis, such as during a pastor's sabbatical leave, extended absence, or during a transitional period in the church. The New Hampshire Temporary Pastoral Supply Agreement typically includes various clauses and provisions to ensure a clear understanding between the parties involved. Some essential elements covered in this agreement may include: 1. Duration and Term: This agreement specifies the intended duration of the temporary pastoral supply, whether it is a specific number of weeks, months, or until the return of the regular pastor. It also outlines the start and end dates of the agreement. 2. Scope of Services: The agreement defines the specific services and duties the temporary pastor will undertake during their tenure. This may include conducting religious services, pastoral care, counseling, visitations, and other related responsibilities. 3. Compensation: This section details the financial arrangement between the church and the temporary pastor. It covers compensation terms, including salary, housing arrangements, benefits, and reimbursements for any incurred ministry-related expenses. 4. Confidentiality and Code of Conduct: The agreement may address confidentiality requirements, ensuring that the temporary pastor adheres to the church's policies regarding privacy and the handling of sensitive information. A code of conduct clause may also be included to ensure that the temporary pastor maintains professional and ethical behavior during their engagement. 5. Termination Clause: In the event of any unforeseen circumstances or breaches of the agreement, provisions for early termination and the process for terminating the agreement can be included. Different types of New Hampshire Temporary Pastoral Supply Agreements may exist based on specific requirements or circumstances. Some variations include: 1. Interim Pastor Agreement: This agreement is entered into when a church requires a temporary pastor to fill the position during a pastoral vacancy or a transitional period between permanent pastors. 2. Sabbatical Cover Agreement: Sabbatical leaves are common in many churches, and during this time, another pastor may be hired temporarily to fulfill the pastoral duties and responsibilities until the regular pastor returns. 3. Pastoral Leave Coverage Agreement: When a pastor needs to take extended leave for personal or family reasons, a temporary pastor may be engaged under this type of agreement to maintain continuity of pastoral services. In summary, a New Hampshire Temporary Pastoral Supply Agreement is a legally binding document intended to establish the terms, obligations, and expectations between a church and a temporary pastor. It ensures that the needs of the congregation are met during temporary pastoral vacancies or absences, providing a framework for a smooth and productive working relationship.
