New Jersey Exemplification Certificates are documents issued by the State of New Jersey. They are legal documents that certify the authenticity of an official document, such as a birth or marriage certificate, or a court order. They are typically used to authenticate documents when they are being used in another state, or when they are presented in a court or administrative proceeding. There are two types of New Jersey Exemplification Certificates: Standard Exemplification Certificates, which are issued by the State of New Jersey Department of Health; and Certified Exemplification Certificates, which are issued by the State of New Jersey Department of Law & Public Safety. Both types of certificates contain the signature of the State of New Jersey Secretary of State, and can also include the signature of the clerk or registrar of the county in which the document was issued.
