The New Jersey Request For Exemption From Financial Management Course is a program that allows certain individuals to be exempt from completing a Financial Management Course. The request must be submitted to the New Jersey Department of Education and is available to individuals who meet certain requirements. Individuals who are eligible to submit a request for exemption include: current and retired public school teachers, current and retired public school administrators, current and retired public school support staff, current and retired public school bus drivers, and current and retired public school security personnel. The exemption will allow individuals to receive their license or certification without having to complete a Financial Management Course. The exemption is valid for one year and must be renewed annually. There are two types of New Jersey Request For Exemption From Financial Management Course: the Standard Exemption and the Special Exemption. The Standard Exemption is for individuals who meet the eligibility criteria listed above and have no prior education or experience in financial management. The Special Exemption is for individuals who meet the eligibility criteria listed above and have prior education or experience in financial management, such as a degree or certification in a related field.
