New Jersey PRE Trial Intervention (PTI) Brochure and Application is a program set up by the New Jersey Supreme Court in order to provide an alternative to traditional prosecution for certain individuals charged with a criminal offense. This program allows certain individuals accused of crimes to avoid a criminal record and avoid jail time by participating in a program of probation and community service. The PTI program is designed to promote the rehabilitation of offenders and to prevent future criminal activity. The New Jersey PRE Trial Intervention (PTI) Brochure and Application includes a brochure outlining the program and an application form to be filled out and submitted to the court. The brochure outlines the eligibility requirements and the process for applying to the program. The application form requests information about the accused's background, including criminal history, education and employment, and requires the accused to submit a written statement to the court explaining why they believe they should be accepted into the program. There are two types of New Jersey PRE Trial Intervention (PTI) Brochure and Application: Standard and Expedited. The Standard PTI application is for those who meet the eligibility requirements and have no prior criminal history. The Expedited PTI application is for those who are eligible for the program but have a prior criminal record.
