The New Jersey Referral Order for Costumes Mediation Program is an initiative of the New Jersey Judiciary that seeks to ensure that all parties involved in a dispute are given access to the most effective and efficient dispute resolution services available. The program is designed to provide an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) process for civil and family matters that are not appropriate for trial courts. The program includes two types of referral orders: 1) a Pre-meal Referral Order, and 2) a Costumes Referral Order. The Pre-meal Referral Order is available to parties who have not yet initiated a court action. It provides parties with the opportunity to resolve their dispute through mediation prior to commencing litigation. The Costumes Referral Order is available to parties who have already initiated a court action. It provides parties with the opportunity to resolve their dispute through mediation after the court action has been initiated. The Costumes Referral Order is designed to allow parties to take advantage of mediation in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. The Costumes Referral Order provides for the appointment of a mediator who is trained and certified by the New Jersey Judiciary. The mediator is responsible for facilitating discussions between the parties and helping them to reach a mutually acceptable resolution. The Costumes Referral Order also includes provisions for the payment of mediation fees, which are determined based on the type and complexity of the dispute. Additionally, the Costumes Referral Order provides for the appointment of a neutral evaluator and/or an arbitrator, if necessary. The Costumes Referral Order is an effective way for parties to resolve their disputes in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
