The New Jersey Certification of Child Support Arrears is a document issued by the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Family Development, in order to verify that a parent is delinquent in their court-ordered child support payments. It is typically used by the Department of Human Services as proof of arrears for the purpose of garnishment or other legal action. There are two types of New Jersey Certification of Child Support Arrears: an Arrears Certificate and an Arrears and Payment Certificate. The Arrears Certificate is issued when parents are delinquent in their court-ordered child support payments, while the Arrears and Payment Certificate is issued when parents are delinquent in their court-ordered child support payments, and the Division of Family Development has received payments for some arrears. Both documents must be signed by the person responsible for making child support payments.
