The New Jersey Application for an Extension of Time is a form that allows taxpayers to request an extension of time to file their taxes. This form is available for both individual and business taxpayers. There are two types of New Jersey Application for an Extension of Time: Form NJ-630, for individuals, and Form NJ-630-C, for businesses. The individual form is used to apply for a six-month extension, and the business form is used to apply for a five-month extension. Both forms must be completed and submitted to the New Jersey Division of Taxation before the original due date of the tax return. The application must include the taxpayer’s name, address, Social Security number or taxpayer ID number, the type of return being filed, and the reason for the extension request. After the application is submitted, the Division of Taxation will issue a notice of approval or denial. If approved, the taxpayer will be granted the extension and will be required to file the return by the extended due date.
