The New Jersey Municipal Court Law Attorney Certification Application — 2017 is a program designed to help attorneys gain certification to practice law in New Jersey municipal courts. The application is administered by the New Jersey Supreme Court, Board on Attorney Certification and is open to attorneys who are currently licensed to practice law in New Jersey. The application includes two types: the Municipal Court Law Attorney Certification Application — 2017 and the Municipal Court Law Attorney Recertification Application — 2017. The former is for attorneys who have not previously been certified by the Board on Attorney Certification, and the latter is for attorneys who have already been certified by the Board. Both applications require the attorney to submit a written application, provide proof of their active law license in New Jersey, demonstrate their knowledge of municipal court law, submit a list of references, and pay the applicable fees. Upon approval, attorneys will be certified to practice law in New Jersey municipal courts.
