New Mexico Merger — Domestic Nonprofit Corporation is a business entity that combines two or more domestic nonprofit corporations in the state of New Mexico. This entity is formed by following the regulations and laws of the Nonprofit Corporation Act of New Mexico. This type of merger allows the combined nonprofit corporations to become a single entity and retain their nonprofit status. The two nonprofit corporations must have the same purpose and must both be approved by the Secretary of State. After the merger, the newly formed nonprofit corporation can continue to operate under its original name, or it can choose a new name. There are two types of New Mexico Merger — Domestic Nonprofit Corporation: Short Form Merger and Long Form Merger. A Short Form Merger allows for the merging of two domestic nonprofits with the same purpose, without requiring a vote from either of the nonprofits. A Long Form Merger requires the approval of both nonprofit corporations and their members.
